WHOOPI Goldberg has been accused of snubbing her The View co-star Meghan McCain after she cut to a sudden commercial break as Meghan was talking.

The View stars were discussing the Democrats’ latest $3 trillion COVID-19 relief bill proposal which passed the House of Representatives but is expected to stall in the Senate.

As Sunny Hostin finished talking, Meghan attempted to defend a Republican point of view that the bill as a “Democrat wishlist” at the same time that Whoopi, who was leading the conversation, spoke up.

With the pair talking over each other, Whoopi appeared to give up and simply said: “Okay we’ll be right back.”

Sources close to the show have insisted that “given the circumstances, it’s entirely possible that Meghan wasn’t even hearing her in real time.”

The hosts are all filming from their individual homes amid the coronavirus outbreak, and there has been an obvious delay in sound.

“They’ve all been doing a great job keeping the show going,” the insider told People magazine.

“They didn’t miss a beat when things started to shut down — the show kept going with new live shows.”

Joy Behar spoke of her own experiences of living on unemployment insurance for years and raising her children as a single mother, before Sunny added: “What this is really about is the ‘haves’ not wanting the ‘have nots’ to survive this and that is really, really serious.

“We have the money. We just don’t seem to have the money to save these people. This is what that’s about.”

McCain immediately disagreed, and said: “That is just ridiculous.

“It’s a Democrat wish list.”

Meghan – whose father was long-term Republican senator John McCain – also used the opportunity to claim that the left has “appointed President Obama as nothing short of a saint.”

Obama and Trump are in a bitter feud

Her comments came after her co-hosts also praised Obama’s recent virtual 2020 commencement speech over the weekend in which he clearly mocked and criticized current President Donald Trump.

“I think at a certain point, we have to start talking to each other in the middle,” Meghan said.

“We have to start talking about the faults on both sides.”
