Shadow Cabinet Office minister Rachel Reeves has defended Labour’s call to prioritise teachers for COVID vaccination.

She says vaccine distribution and production is being “ramped up” and says this means more people can be brought into priority groups.

“We know that some people, because of the work they do, are more exposed to the virus,” she added.

“What Labour are saying, can the JCVI look at how we can ensure those people who are most exposed to the virus get access to it at a bit of an earlier stage?”
