Michelle and her family have tested negative for coronavirus after getting struck down with the bug last week

Michelle urged people to go for their jabs after she contracted the virus, saying she could have been seriously ill if she hadn’t.

Speaking to Dancing on Ice semi-finalist Ben Hanlin’s parenting podcast Ben Behaving Dadly, she said: “We got our negative tests through yesterday for Covid after testing positive last week.

“It’s been so hard for the kids all year so I was so upset for them when it happened.  But they coped so well and didn’t even feel ill.

“Hugh suffered more than me.  Thank goodness I had had the Pfizer jab a month before, as I’ve got some underlying conditions – some I’ve talked about and some I haven’t – and it could well have been pretty bad for me.

She added: “So I wanted to talk about it as although yes I got jabbed and got it – I wasn’t at all ill. “

Michelle was stunned when her whole family contracted coronavirus.

The star, who has an underlying health condition, reassured her Instagram followers that her situation could have been worse if she hadn’t had her vaccine.

Sharing a smiley picture of her kids holding a rainbow picture, she wrote: “Yesterday we found out that ALL four of us are Covid positive, after being randomly selected last year as part of the Oxford trail we regularly get tested, negative every week, until now! (sic).

“We know we don’t need to alert the world lol , however, it’s an opportunity to praise the #NHS.”

Highlighting the top quality care the family had received, she took the opportunity to say thank you to the NHS and urged others to get the vaccine when they are able to.

She continued: “They spent the whole day reassuring us and meticulously covering all grounds of where one of us could have got it, also who could get it from us.

“Now that we have spoken to those who needed to be alerted … we wanted to say THANK YOU to the NHS! @nhsengland

“And to to say #getthejab.

“I had the (Pfizer) jab a month ago – PROVING (NOT that it doesn’t work) but that we must ALL still be careful!”

Warning her followers that they should remain vigilant despite the dropping numbers of both cases and deaths in the UK, Michelle said she might have ended up in hospital had she not had a jab.
