A TOTAL of 345 healthcare workers — from both the NHS and private care homes — have now died from Covid-19, it has been revealed.
The death toll for those in the health service was 214 and PM Boris Johnson has told the Commons 131 have died in homes.
The daughter of one hospital worker who died from the coronavirus says her dad should have been better protected.
Peter Gough, 56, worked at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford as an admin assistant.
Emma Gough has called for better guidance to protect admin workers and said they should have access to personal protective equipment.
Oxford University Hospitals Trust said PPE was available to staff “whose contact with patients mean they require it”.
Other victims include Mark Lowe, a porter with The James Cook University Hospital radiology team in Middlesbrough.
Also dead are porter Mike Brown, 61, who worked at University Hospital Southampton, Adrian Cruttenden, 47, medical records administrator at Hull Royal Infirmary and Dr Abdorreza Sedghi, a GP trainee based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage, Herts.
